Our Story

Pastor Jason, originally from Kentucky, moved from Illinois to Yuma to plant Vertical in 2005 along with his wife Melissa and their two children, Hudson and Haley. Pastor Jason was moved by the Holy Spirit to pastor a church in the desert southwest.

They moved here and started to reach our city with the love of God in an effort to reach people for Jesus and help them become his hands and feet!

The Vertical Church exists to see people who are far from God become the hands and feet of Jesus. We are actively reaching out into our city with God's love through various kindness events. Things like, providing a food for children over the weekend, free car washes, free entry into Waylon's Water World, and even providing a pair of shoes to every child at an entire elementary school!

God's vision here at Vertical expands out of this city and into the world. We want to reach out through church planting efforts by strengthening and supporting other churches around the world.

God is continuing to do incredible things here through the Vertical Church. As we move forward into the future we want to see more people become the hands and feet of Jesus in our city and around the world. Here are a few of our goals as we look to the future...
