Feb 17, 2019    Jason Taylor

Conversation starter. Start light and fun conversation in your group about the series topic.
•Talk about positive changes you’ve noticed in your life and the lives of people close to you since coming to The Vertical Church.
Contemplate. Ask questions to get your group thinking about these principles.
•Read 1 Kings 19:5-16. Can you find each of the prescriptive points that God has for our depression? 1) Eat and Rest 2) Replace Our Lies with His Truth 3) God Speaks in a Still Small Voice 4) Do What God Says to Do. Talk with your group about how each operates and why they think these are important.
Contribute. Ask questions that create personal openness in your group.
•What do you do when you feel depressed? How are you going to use this prescription in your life?
Cry out to God. Pray intensely for your group on the topic.
Father, we thank You for having a prescription for our depression. Help us to focus on You in all things and never forget that no matter how big our problems look, You are bigger. Help us quite ourselves enough to hear Your still small voice. Show us clearly what to do next. It is in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
Commit to change. What’s a new area to grow with the Lord?
•I will find something to take off my schedule this week and replace that time praying, reading the Bible, resting and eating right.
•I will ask God what He is calling me to and stop doing things by compulsion.
