Part 8: Trusting God in the Storm

Jul 29, 2018    Jason Taylor

Conversation starter. Start light and fun conversation in your group about the series topic.
•Talk about an actual bad storm you’ve been through and if you were scared, where it was.
Contemplate. Ask questions to get your group thinking about these principles.
•Read the verses Matthew 8:23-27 out loud in your group. What do you think was going through the disciple's minds after Jesus calmed the storm?
Contribute. Ask questions that create personal openness in your group.
•What has been the biggest storm of your life so far? How did you or do you feel as you went or are going through it?
•Does this group help you to feel God’s presence? You never have to be alone.
Cry out to God. Pray intensely for your group on the topic.
Father, we ask that You be with us through all the storms we go through. We thank You for healing us from our sin at the cross and from every other issue, sometimes in this life and sometimes after. We know we never have to be alone because You are always with us, helping us through life. It’s in Jesus’s name we pray. Amen
Commit to change. What’s a new area to grow with the Lord?
•If you’ve never been baptized, sign up to get baptized in August.
•I will talk to Jesus daily about ____________________, asking Him to calm the storm.
•I will pray daily so I don’t start to feel alone in this storm.
•I will stay in community with other believers daily so my storms are known and I’m not alone.
