Part 3: The Struggle With Anxiety Is Real

Feb 10, 2019    Jason Taylor

Conversation starter. Start light and fun conversation in your group about the series topic.
•Who has II Timothy 1:7 memorized? Say it! Have your group say the verse together 3 times.
Contemplate. Ask questions to get your group thinking about these principles.
•Read Philippians 4:6-7. What are the 3 things you should have when making your requests to God? What do those 3 things each mean? What does it say will be the result of taking everything to God this way?
•Read Romans 8:28-30. God works all things for the good of the believer. How important is it to be “conformed to the image of His Son”? What do you think it means for the believer to be conformed to the image of Jesus?
Contribute. Ask questions that create personal openness in your group.
•What is something that causes you anxiety or intense fear? What steps are you taking in that area to confront the fear with Jesus?
Cry out to God. Pray intensely for your group on the topic.
Father, we have fears and struggles. Anxiety can interfere with our daily walk. Show us how to cry out “Abba, Father” and trust that we are not a slave to fear. We are Your children and loved, chosen, and forgiven. We thank You for working all things for our good. It is in the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
Commit to change. What’s a new area to grow with the Lord?
•I will memorize one scripture and point from this message this week and speak it out loud regularly
