Part 4: The Greatest Commandment

Nov 25, 2018    Jeremy Dillman

Conversation starter. Start light and fun conversation in your group about the series topic.
• How does focusing on Jesus’s finished work on the cross help you express love to others?
Contemplate. Ask questions to get your group thinking about these principles.
• Read Galatians 5:13-14. What does it mean to Love your neighbor as yourself?
• Read Galatians 5:16-17. Create 2 lists, one of things your group thinks are of the Spirit and another of the things they think are of the flesh. (The lists should cover attitudes and actions.)
Contribute. Ask questions that create personal openness in your group.
• Ask your group members to share about something in their life that is on one of the lists.
Cry out to God. Pray intensely for your group on the topic. Father, we want to love like You love. Help us to find ways to love others every day. Give us the strength to live every moment by Your Spirit so we don’t grow tired of doing loving good to everyone we come in contact with daily. We thank You for the changes You are making in our hearts. It is in the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
Commit to change. What’s a new area to grow with the Lord?
• Using the list your group made, commit to replacing one thing from the flesh list with one thing from the Spirit list.
• Commit to finding a way to show love by serving your group in some way next week.
• Read through Galatians (possibly again) by your next group meeting.
